What is therapy with you like?

I'd describe myself as very warm, open, and empathic. My clients experience an atmosphere of non-judgement, trust, and transparency in our work together. I listen wholeheartedly, and you have my full and undivided attention in our sessions. I enjoy getting to know you, and coming up with creative ways to help you live a life you feel at peace with.

Will you push me to talk about things I'm not ready for?

No. I take rapport building as a matter of utmost importance and will never push you to address something you do not wish to. I go at your pace, and will spend as much time as needed establishing a secure foundation for our work together before moving into an overwhelming topic.

Can my faith, culture, and traditions be part of our work?

Yes. I highly value and respect my clients' culture, faith and religious backgrounds, and their own traditions. I actively look for ways to use this in a positive and strengths-based way throughout our work together, and I am eager to learn about what you value most.

Who do you work with, and what do you help with?

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. My areas of focus include anxiety and anxiety-related disorders, social phobia, OCD, grief and loss, relationships, family dynamics, and mood and behavior concerns.

Initial Evaluation (55 minutes, virtual): $175. Individual Therapy (55 minutes, virtual): $150. Parent/Family Session (55 minutes, virtual): $150. ERP Intensives (In-person, beginning November 2026) have their own pricing — see the ERP Intensive question below.

Do you accept insurance?

Accepted Answer

I'm an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill your insurance provider directly. The reason for this is that billing in-network comes with many stipulations, most importantly that it often requires sending your diagnosis, mental status exams, treatment plans, and progress summaries directly to your insurance company. Once that information is shared there's no way to undo it. Staying out-of-network keeps you in full control of what's disclosed about your care.

If you're out-of-network, will my insurance still help cover sessions?

Often, yes. Most insurance plans have out-of-network benefits that reimburse a significant portion of your care. Through my EHR, ZenCare, you'll have free access to Reimbursify, which lets either of us submit your superbills directly for reimbursement — most clients tell me it takes about three weeks to get paid back. I can also give you the billing codes in advance so you can call your insurer and ask what they'd reimburse before we start.

What are ERP Intensives, and are they in person?

Starting November 2026, I offer in-person ERP Intensives for clients within 40 miles of Bluffton, South Carolina — highly individualized, longer sessions (2–3 hours, 2–3 times per week for 1–4 weeks) for people with a diagnosis of OCD, GAD, Social Phobia, or Other Specified Phobia (other diagnoses considered on review). Intensives are excellent for those who want to move through ERP more quickly and are ready to see progress fast. After a standard therapy evaluation, we hold a one hour treatment planning session to ensure we make the most of your commitment. Costs: 1-hour virtual treatment planning session ($100), then 2-hour ($375) or 3-hour ($475) community-based sessions. These aren't reimbursed by insurance.

Can you write letters or reports for school, work, or ongoing treatment?

Yes. Upon request, I can provide a letter or report confirming a diagnosis, treatment participation, or general information about your functioning, progress, limitations, or needs — most often for schools or ongoing insurance reimbursement. I'll need a signed release of information for whoever will receive it, and I'll send you an electronic PDF to print or share as needed. $50 per report; not reimbursable by insurance.

Will you talk to my psychiatrist, physician, or another provider?

When it's in your best interest, yes. With a signed release of information on file, I'm glad to have a client-centered consultation with another provider involved in your care — typically a 30 minute phone or video call where I share only what's relevant. $75 per consultation; not reimbursable by insurance.

Are you licensed in my state?

Accepted Answer

I'm licensed in four states, so we can work together if you live in any of them: Illinois, as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (180.011478); Florida, as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (TPMC5547); and Tennessee (8087) and South Carolina (12559), as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Sessions are virtual, so we can meet from anywhere in those states. If you're near Bluffton, South Carolina, in-person ERP Intensives are also available beginning November 2026.

Do you offer a free consultation before we start?

Yes — I offer everyone a free, no-commitment 30-minute video or phone call so we can get to know each other a bit and see if working together feels like the right fit.
